I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

The Bearded Man is shaving again…

In 2018 my wife and son both joined the Orange Clover team and shaved their heads. It was a great an inspiring experience. The next day I went to my barber, had her shave my beard and I started growing it out for a year to do my own St. Baldricks experience in 2019. It would be another few years before I could do it again, and we made my second shave a fun time by including a challenge for beard styles that I would wear for a week after the initial shave. 2021 was the year of the “Monkey Tail”.

This time I believe my beard will be about 16 months old, which is the longest it’s been. I will be doing the style challenge again, so when you donate make sure you include a comment for your beard style. The beard style with the most $ in donations will be worn for about 2 week in March. Here are your choices:

1) Hulk Hogan(will dye it blonde)

2) Fu Manchu with a long chin strap

3) Mutton Chops(Wolverine)

4) Jack Sparrow(yes I will braid it each day)

5) Clean Cut

I will also be doing something with my bird/nature photography, more details to come. Find me on Facebook if you are interested in that.

Thanks for your support…dCaf.

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.

Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
