I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Mary

Hi Family and Friends,

I need your help. I have volunteered at my daughter’s school to raise money for children’s cancer through their St. Baldrick’s event this Friday, May 17th. The goal is to collectively raise money for children’s cancer research and in-doing so I have offered my head of hair. I am fortunate that I have a full head of hair to shave; however, I am just hoping that it all comes back and preferably less grey!

I am shaving my head and raising money on behalf of my mom. My mom has had a long and winding road of health issues over the last two years that has resulted in a leukemia diagnosis. Words cannot express how proud my sister and I (along with our families) are of her. She continues to take on her diagnosis with endless strength and an abundance of faith and gratitude. She is getting ready to beat cancer through a stem cell transplant procedure in the coming weeks. For those that don’t know my mom, her grandkids are her world and there is nothing more that she would want to do than help children. While I am referencing my mom’s leukemia, this form of cancer is the most common cancer diagnosis in children and adolescences younger than 20 years old.  I am sure most, if not all, have been directly or indirectly affected by childhood cancer.

My hope is to raise a few dollars to help children with leukemia and other forms of cancer. If you can help, any amount would be very much appreciated - every little bit helps!
