I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Martin Makes a Difference

GUESS WHO'S BACK!!!  The dynamic duo-Matthew and Teacher Slad-are teaming up once again to battle childhood cancer!

(From Teacher Slad):  I first met Matthew when I was lucky enough to become his 3rd grade teacher back in 2019.  I will never forget the Slad Superstars of the 2019-2020 school year!  I'm sure they (and their parents!) will never forget the daily Zoom sessions with my passionate yet off key singing about the days of the week!

Matthew's personality makes him very easy to love.  He is the happiest person I know, and when you know Matthew's story, you know that's even more incredible than it seems.

(From Matthew's Mom):  Matthew was born on 12-11-11 and at 4 days old was undergoing his 1st brain surgery to address fluid on his brain. During the operation doctors found much more than fluid--Matthew was born with a high grade glioma brain tumor. Matthew has defied every odd in every medical book in the country. He has undergone 2 partial tumor resections, 6 total surgeries and 5 rounds of chemo. After only 5 rounds of chemo, Matthew's tumor has remained stable through 3 MRI's. Matthew has not had chemo since August 13, 2011--something no one could have predicted but something that thousands of people have prayed for.

Matthew and I are joining together to raise funds to research childhood cancer.  At best we need a cure, and in the meantime we need a way to treat children that doesn't cause all the problems chemo does.  Matthew and his family know first hand the suffering involved in childhood cancer.  If we can get together and do something silly like shave our heads to take away some of that suffering, we're in!
