Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? I decided to do this last year when I attended the St Baldricks event at St. Brendan's Inn in Green Bay with friends. It was so moving to watch all the people shaving their heads and all the people donating money to help support this research. I sometimes question if all the money is helping but when I was in the midst of all the love and generosity and support I found myself in tears. I watched a young lady of about 16 with beautiful golden long locks stand up and share that if we could all come up with $500 on the spot she would shave her head and it happened. I could see the fear and determination in her eyes. It was something to see. So that is why I decided that I would do the same, of course an old lady doing it vs a young teen is not as impactful but it is something I can do to help.
Research is hope for kids with cancer, but donations to find cures have been down since 2020.
Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants. No pressure to give just if you feel moved to do so, either way if you could share this post that would be wonderful. Love to you all!!
