I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: UPPER PRIMARY: Hair Force 1

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives. In 2014, one of my students was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. For the majority of the year, she was in and out of the hospital receiving treatment, while still doing the best she could to be a student. She and I would meet once a week online to talk about her experience, things she was learning at home, and things my class was learning at school. If you ask me, that's pretty resilient for a 9-year-old. Her treatment went so well that she was able to rejoin the class in April 2015 and finish the school year with her classmates and friends. Jasmine was creative, loved learning, and she especially loved writing. My experience with Jasmine motivates me to support St. Baldrick's. I shave my head in the hope that each time I do, fewer children succumb to cancer and receive better, more advanced treatments that allow them to experience life, school, learning, and friendship in person. Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures. Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you so much!
