I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I first heard of St. Baldrick’s day when a local fire department was organizing a fundraiser in 2003. We stopped by the firehouse the day before the event to drop off some brownies and a thank you card Rachel had made - we wouldn’t be able to be there the day of the event because Rachel would be in the hospital for yet another chemotherapy stay.

Rachel passed away six months later.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that. I’m shaving my head twenty years after first learning of St. Baldrick’s in the hope that maybe the money I raise will save just one child, and save one mother from losing her child.

My goal is $17,000 which is the goal set by the original shavees on March 17, 2000.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
