I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

This year I've decided to share a story from a event years ago in Marshfield, WI. Genny and I attended this event which had raffles, games, and pictures, movies of children with cancer playing on a big screen. We played some games, raffles, until it was my turn to get my hair shaved. Later that evening I received a phone call from a woman who introduced herself as Jeffrey's Mom. She said I had won a blanket in a raffle and asked if I could meet her she would bring the blanket when she driving through town. I met Jeffrey's Mom at the grocery store where I learned her son Jeffrey was one of the children who gained his angel wings some years ago and was the little boy up on the big screen at the event. She told me about her brave little boy and how going to these events help her heal. To this day I still don't know her name I just remember her as Jeffrey's Momma. I think of her every year when St.Baldricks rolls around. I hope she found some peace if that is even possible after the loss of her baby. This years shave is dedicated to Jeffrey's Mom and to all the parents, caregivers that keep their angels close to their hearts.
