Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because with your donation “on my head,” together, we can save lives.
I am also shaving my head to honor the younger brother of one of my students. You can see Cruz' story at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02KJ7arRB9A
Cruz Bitanga has always been an active boy. He enjoyed riding his bike to school, swimming and playing basketball. When a pain in his knee wouldn’t go away, his parents took him to Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. A scan revealed Cruz had cancer in his femur, and the only way to remove the tumor was to amputate his leg. But Cruz also is a courageous boy, and said “If that’s what it takes to get the cancer out, that’s what we have to do so I can run and play again.” See how the medical care he received from Kapi‘olani will allow Cruz to do the things he dreams to do.
Research is hope for kids with cancer, but donations to find cures have been down since 2020.
Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you!
