I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lincoln 7th Grade

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lincoln 7th Grade

Why am I shaving my head?
In my 23 years of teaching, I have seen the impact of childhood cancer on my students, my peers, their friends, their families, and their community.  Shaving my head and raising money to fund childhood cancer research is a positive way that I can support my Lincoln family.  If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you will meet two of my former students that I am honoring when I shave my head.

Why do we choose to support Saint Baldrick's?
Our school began to partner with Saint Baldrick's in 2011 after a coworker's daughter was diagnosed with cancer.   We learned that research specifically targeting childhood cancer is severely underfunded.  Saint Baldrick's is an organization that uses head-shaving events to raise money to provide grants to those who are working towards a cure.  Since our first year, our school has raised an amazing amount of money.  In fact, in 2019 alone, our school and its community raised $436,000!!  This year we and our sister middle school are at it again and have set a new goal of $500,000.  We won't reach our goal without your help!  Please consider donating to help us support all the research teams that are working to end childhood cancer.

Thank you for your support!

Nadine
