When we lived in Canada, Nolan showed up for school one day with a bald head. When his teacher asked him why, he said, “Cancer.”

So there was this moment she thought Nolan had cancer… and the mere thought of that took my breath away. It wasn’t until Nolan’s teacher asked more questions that she learned Nolan’s bald head was for an American fundraiser for pediatric cancer research.

Back in 2016, Nolan’s best bud back in Indianapolis had lost his 10-year-old cousin Jack to Burkitt Lymphoma. And what did this family do? The Kleins rallied our entire community in hopes that someday no family will have to go through what they did and do. In memory of Jack, they partnered with Broad Ripple Haverford Little League and launched a Shave or Braid event to raise money to fight pediatric cancers.

Please support Nolan and help him reach his goal of raising $1,000 by June 4th. For those we’ve lost like Jack and Eibhlin. For those fighting like Evelyn and my dear friend Jordana, who is so young at heart that she got a rare pediatric leukemia in her 40s and is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant. Let’s put an end to childhood cancer—and all cancer.
