I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: TACKLE

It's the last week and I'll be highlighting a person or group who were/are an inspiration to me.  I'll start with the YMCA!  As a school based administrator, I've worked with the Y for the last 20+ years through educational programs, even serving on the Taylor YMCA Board for four years.  I've been a huge fan of their We Build People fundraising campaign as it benefits so many programs within the Y including LiveStrong, a program for cancer patients/survivors.  Little did I know that in 2018, I would qualify to be participant.  After undergoing chemo, I needed a program like LiveStrong!  LiveStrong helped me restore my confidence, remove fears, and develop positive, supportive relationships with my coaches and others who had also battled cancer. Everyone was phenomenal.  I will forever be indebted to them for their support, words of encouragement, and positive outlook on life.  THANK YOU Taylor Y and the We Build People Campaign for making LIVESTRONG a possibility for me and others who have battled cancer.

As a member of  Team TACKLE, I'll be shaving my head to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. As a cancer survivor and someone who has worked with children for over 31 years, this is just one way I can give back for the support I received. Therefore, I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for children. Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive.  Thanks for making a difference!
