In the many years with the fire department you forge many friendships and when you are lucky enough those friendships evolve into family. This statement has rang true with the our Station 14 family. So when one of our own is fighting cancer, we are fighting right there with him.
His name is Micah and he is 6 years old. Micah is a sweet, fun loving, adorable kid who lights up the room when he walks in. To say he has a bigger than life personality does not even start to describe him. Connor and I love being around him.
In 2016, Micah was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. LCH isa rare disorder in which the body makes too many dendritic cells, a form of white blood cell, and forms tumors and disrupts the normal function of tissues. Please click on the link below to find about more about this cancer.

I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's on March 14th in Micah’s honor and to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.
Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
