As many of you know I have donated my hair twice in the past when I grew it nice and long. I now have an average length of hair, but I still want to donate, so I'm taking it to the extremes - I'm shaving my head and donating my hair to make a wig, all while while raising money for childhood cancer research!
The more you donate, the more I will chop:
$100 - donate minimum 8'' amount of hair
$500 - bring on the razor!
Every $200 increase afterwards will shorten my hair length even more!
Multiple times a day, children and teens have to shave their heads to feel in control of something they are not - hair loss from chemotherapy. Not only do some children have to battle cancer, but many also struggle with body image and confidence in themselves. It takes a toll on young hearts when they lose their hair, experience physical weakness, swell from IV fluids, no longer see their friends at school, and feel as if they have lost their vibrant energy.
Surprisingly, childhood cancer research is still extremely underfunded - most of the money goes into phase I laboratory research instead of current clinical trials. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures and to spark an impact. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
If you know someone who has previously or currently been diagnosed with pediatric cancer, or if you and your family have been personally affected by childhood cancer, please make a donation and let me know the name of the child you are honoring as I will keep them in my heart on SHAVE DAY!
It's just hair to us, but not to them. Let's inspire self-confidence to child and teen cancer patients while making donations to provide healing today.
