I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sweet Dreams

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sweet Dreams

Dan Butts is a nurse anesthetist & Daniel Nieva is an anesthesiologist at St. Louis Children's Hospital/Washington University. We call our team the "Sweet Dreams" because we are some of the many compassionate healthcare providers that often tuck kids with cancer in for their "naps" for each & every one of their procedures. We're there reassuring them before their first CT scan or MRI that diagnoses their cancer. We're there for their broviac or Port-A-Cath placement and surgical resections. We're there for their multiple chemotherapy & radiation treatments. And we dream of the day when they're cured & get their lines removed. We encourage them to dream about a beach or mountains or someplace more pleasant than an operating room. Moreover, we encourage them to dream about their lives as healthy kids free of cancer.

We're shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Please join us at Helen Fitzgerald's Saturday, March 7th (from 2:00-4:00pm) to support our team. Donations can be made by check, Venmo to Daniel Nieva, or on our team's link.
