Hi, my name is Willet Debrah and I'm shaving my head in honor of my sister Sarafina Carlor and Ms. Elizabeth Hill. These two women are very special to me and both lost their lives to cancer. In honor of their lives, I am raising money for childhood cancer research! When my sister passed away, I went through some of the darkest times of my life and not too long after, I lost my godmother, Elizabeth Hill. Their passion for music, art, singing, dancing, and love for God has impacted my life and the lives of many other people that they have touched. I definitely know that they are both making wonderful music in heaven right now. As extreme as it may seem to cut my hair, it is a weapon of empowerment and a symbol of hope. As this year comes to an end, I will be halfway through my sophomore year of college and preparing for my junior year. However, my sister had become an angel before she had the opportunity to graduate high school, start and finish college, marry the love of her life, have children of her own, travel the world and live out her dreams. My godmother, Elizabeth Hill also missed seeing her children graduate from college, meet her first grandson, see her daughter become a wife to a loving and supporting man. Their legacy lives on in all the lives that they have touched. As I remember my loved once I also want to honor Owen and Moytri who are only six and nine years old as they are currently battling cancer. I pray for healing over their lives and that God will rewrite their stories. I also pray that their lives will become testimonies and that they will never forget how loved they are and that God is greater than all our struggles in this life. Finally, I pray for their families and that God will confront them so that they can find joy in the midst of their trouble.
Now I can’t do this on my own so I will need your help and support! I will not only need your prayers but I will also need financial support to help achieve my goal to help everyone fighting cancer. So, will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
