I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Phi Delta Theta

Hello!

I'm Henry Lang and I'm proud to be a shavee as of 5/5/19! This is the first time I've ever seen the true shape of my head because it has been full of wavy curls since the womb. My studies in education, learning science, and social change built my critical eye for supporting non-profit organizations. Sometimes I wonder whether my support actually makes a positive impact in my friends' philanthropies. I wholeheartedly acknowledge and support St. Baldrick's mission because your donations go straight to children's cancer research (very different from adult cancer research). The organization has excellent expense ratios and I have donated $50 myself to cover any side costs so that you may donate confidently, should you chose to do so.

If you and your immediate friends are family are not impacted by cancer, you are very lucky. My family's history is not as depressing as most, and all who were infected were adults. I already have plenty of anxiety - I genuinely don't think I could sleep if I found out one of my younger brothers had cancer.

My goal of $400 will fund 20 hours of research to improve patient and survivor quality of life. It will take at least a year for my hair to grow back to its current length (photo is a tad outdated), but even the fact that it will return is a privilege.

I am honored to be shaving my head for the FIRST TIME in my entire life since I came into this world as a strawberry-blonde curly-nested ball of energy. Please support St. Baldrick's and do not hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.

XOXO, Henry
