I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Awesome!

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Awesome!

Last year I joined my son-in-law, Seth's, team "Awesome!" to have my head shaved to raise funds in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation for children's cancer research. My wife was going through chemo treatments at the time and I decided to do so in solidarity with her expected hair loss, and I dedicated my efforts in honor of a student of mine who had developed brain cancer several years before. Evidently cancer in children plays out very differently than it does in adults yet there is very little funding specifically dedicated to childrens' cancer research. Seth had been doing this for 9 years and his son Emrys joined us, so we were three generations losing our locks all at once. (We even made the evening news!) Well, Linda never even came close to my degree of "baldness" and has moved on from chemo treatments to immuno-therapy, which apprears to be working. (Yay!) Once again I will be joining team Awesome!, to have my head shaved this May 4th. I hope to raise $500 towards our team's efforts.
