I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Colleen's Crew Cut

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Colleen's Crew Cut

Let me tell you the story of my dear friend, Colleen.

Colleen is one incredible teenager – funny, vivacious, and resilient beyond belief. But last year was tough for her. She had just graduated from high school, and while her peers were enjoying their summers and looking forward to a new chapter in their lives at college, she was heading into a bone marrow transplant and facing several months in the hospital – minimum. Understandably, she was scared, and quite honestly, I was scared for her. Although potentially curative, a bone marrow transplant is a long, grueling process that is full of uncertainty and unexpected complications. So before her transplant, I made Colleen a promise: “Get through this, and I will let you shave my head for St. Baldrick’s next year.”

Well, fast-forward to a year later (now), and Colleen is doing wonderfully. And of course, she will not let me forget my promise! So on March 16, 2019, Colleen will be shaving my head as together we help raise money for childhood cancer research. This type of research is why Colleen is alive today. I hope you will find it in your heart to support us in any way you can. Thank you!
