I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My story begins in 1999, my young friend cassie, who was battling AML, had been pressuring me for her to cut my hair.  I relented in early December and she did a tremendous job.  2 weeks later she lost her battle and earned her wings.  I wore that haircut like a badge of honor for 2 years.  In the summer of 2001 I shaved my head while a counselor at Camp Dost, a camp for children fighting cancer, so I would be like the kids.  I spent the next 5 year's as a counselor at Camp and each year I would shave at Camp, even letting the kids get in on the fun.  Somewhere out there, there are pictures of me covered in shaving cream as the kids get to work.  This is my 2nd time shaving with St. Baldrick's, but defiantly not my first time " rockin' the bald".

Please join me in my quest to fight against childhood cancer!

Thanks, Bruce

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
