I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Maddi’s Heroes

On October 8th 2018, Maddi woke up with a low grade fever. By October 15th and two trips to her pediatrician she still had a low grade fever and her doctor ordered a chest xray and abdominal ultrasound. At approximately 4:30 PM that day our lives changed forever. There was a mass near Maddilyn's left kidney. A big mass. "UNC or Duke, pick one and go to the ER. We will call them and tell them you're on the way." A blur of doctors. Tests and tests and more tests. Then the dreaded C word: Cancer. Maddi has a Stage M neuroblastoma. Cancer is spreading through her body. There is a long road ahead, but this is a treatable and curable cancer. We all have to be #maddistrong.
