I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team CKCKC

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team CKCKC

I'm joining my grandson, Merritt, in shaving my head this year! We are raising money to help fight childhood cancer. This will be Merritt's third year shaving his head and raising money, along with our team, CKCKC (Chiaravalle Kids Conquer Kids' Cancer) at a St. Baldrick's head shaving event at his school. CKCKC was started by one of Merritt's friends and has raised over $115,000 in the first two years!

You may know that this past year I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and am currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. At 81 years old, I want to do this with my grandson to help those much younger than me fighting cancer.

You can support me and so many kids by making a donation. I'll be on stage, next to Merritt, on Sunday, February 3rd (Superbowl Sunday!). It'll be the real main event that day! Where else can you see an old guy and an adolescent, both willing to give up their hair (and if you know me, you know I've had a lifetime of being very proud of my awesome full head of red hair!), Papa and grandson, together, and for a great cause!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
