At the age of 14 I was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of lymphoma, cancer had grown in a sweat gland. Finding info was difficult for my parents and Medical team due to the rarity. I was lucky to ‘only’ endure a few surgeries and a decade + worth of scans, labs, more scans and labs. I was one of the lucky ones to finish treatments with only a lifelong battle scar but lots of life to be busy living—cancer free!
Many kids aren’t so lucky. Too often, a cure or even effective treatments aren’t in the cards. Peds cancer research is shamefully under funded. Children are being diagnosed with alarming frequency and families’ lives are changed forever from the battle.
I had the honor and privilege of being one of St.Baldrick’s Honor Kid Drew Krause’s Preschool teachers for several short months before he was strangely absent.Within days I learned he was hospitalized and had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 3.
In honor of the strength that Drew and his amazing family have shown and continue to show and to support the cause of funding Peds cancer research and treatments (a cause close to my ❤️), I am fundraising again for St. Baldrick’s.
No amount of $ is too small to make a real difference. Please pledge your financial support so that fewer children become everyday heroes battling the enemy known as Cancer. So the young heroes currently battling can win against cancer❤️
