I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

OK, I admit it, I lied. Last year I said it would be my last year to participate in St. Baldrick's and you all did a bang up job supporting me! Thank you! Without any other intention, I still grew out my beard this Winter and now am in desperate need of a shave! So, I figured, what the heck! Let's see if we can raise a few bucks to help fight childhood cancer in the process!!!

I'm shaving my head and beard to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

As in past years, I'm shaving in the memory of my cousin Noah Lauer. Noah passed away at the age of one year old from the complications of Leukodystrophy, a genetic disease of the brain and spinal cord. Although not technically cancer, I can't help thinking that research in one area can also lead to discoveries in the other. I am also honored to help remember Noah's short, love-filled life.

Although I've attached to the shaving event "Bald in the Boro" I will not be able to participate on March 15th. Therefore, I will actually be shaving my head/beard on Saturday, March 23rd in a "virtual event." We will be sure to take plenty of pictures to share!!!
