My Name is Mia Palumbo. I am a 8 year old girl from Oak Lawn. I am a girl wrestler. I have been wrestling for 4 years. I know what it is like to HAVE to be tough. I wrestle against all boys. Last year I was wrestling for a charity tournament to raise money for Autism and I seperated my collarbone from my shoulder. My mom and dad took me to the emergency room and the doctor took my mom out of the room to talk to her. Then we started to go to alot of different doctors. Finally my mom and dad told me that the doctors thought I had juvenile bone cancer. We just found out in September that it wasn't bone cancer and the lesions were just stress fractures. I want to shave my head because at one point my family thought I had cancer and I feel very lucky to be healthy and want to help all the sick kids in any way that I can. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
