I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this note finds you all safe and well.

Will you please help me raise money to fund childhood cancer research?

Cancer affects kids from all walks of life, whether they’re learning to walk or learning to drive, live in big cities or small towns, have brown eyes or blue eyes. It doesn’t discriminate based on ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic status. Kids with cancer deserve a lifetime and are the heart of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Kids need to run and play with their peers and moms and dads need to think about the ordinary challenges of childhood!

If you are able, please consider a donation.

Tillie is 12 years off treatment!!!

Thank G-d, Healthy and Happy!

Tillie's story began in 2005 when she was first diagnosed with leukemia. After fighting that fight, she relapsed in 2009 which brought on the hardcore chemo and brain radiation.  She is a two-time cancer survivor with the continued help from the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital team. Many of you have been with us since the beginning. Thank you for helping us and St. Baldrick’s. Thank you for sticking with Tillie and our family!

She’s 20, a sophomore at university, and doing that college thing. Tillie is happily busy with Hillel and re-elected to their board, leading services, and organizing events. Good people, good friends. Classes are going well. Busy social weekends. I thought she was in the library!

Our 2024 Head Shave event will be back in the garage. Tillie and Jared will again oversee the clippers. Something other than mohawk this year. Sue will be ready with bandages (thankfully, none needed last year!) Our Head Shave is set for mid-March.

Thank you for donating to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.

Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
