I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I've decided to shave my head because I want to help children all around the world conquer cancer. I recently learned that there's a difference between adult cancer and childhood cancer and it's true that adults tend to get cancer more often than children. However, because of this, the government and foundations are funding more research for adult cancers. Of course, I'm all for finding a cure for adult cancer, but if you take a look at the average number of years of life that are lost from adults and children, you can see why people need to make a difference. The average number of years that are lost from an adult is 15. However, the average number of years that are lost from a child is 71. Only 4% of U.S federal funding is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research. Only 4%!! This is why people need to make a difference and it's why I'm choosing to try and do so.
