I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: OSU Class of 2026

Cancer is such a scary, isolating, life-altering experience. Shaving my head seemed like a very small yet tangible prayer to foster hope for kids with cancer. I think it's easy for us to turn away from profoundly tragic situations because we feel uncomfortable or uncertain about how to help. But my own discomfort is no excuse for not showing up.

If I'm being honest, the idea of shaving my head makes me a little bit uncomfortable! And I hope that will continually remind me to keep paying attention to those in my community who are suffering and keep learning how to help them feel seen and valued- whether it's providing a meal to their families or donating my hair towards kids' wigs.

Whether you're able to donate or not, I hope that my decision encourages you to learn how to better hold space for those facing unfathomably difficult circumstances like childhood cancer too.

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
