Why are we doing this and why should you care?

This is personal.

We are doing this for our daughter Kaylee. At 8 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. She lost part of her leg and had to learn how to navigate the world all over again. Chemotherapy was toxic. One of the visible side effects was losing her hair, but the invisible ones are what stay with you. We still do not know what the long term effects will be.

Kaylee is now 11 years old and in her second year of remission, and we are beyond grateful. But 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the United States will not survive. And for many who do, the battle does not end when treatment stops.

It is our choice to shave our heads and raise money when these children had no choice. They did not choose to lose their hair. They did not choose the toxic treatments. You have a choice to stand with them and help us support this incredible cause.

What started as a challenge among friends 25 years ago has grown into the largest volunteer movement to conquer kids cancer through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This year, we are joining thousands of others and shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Each shaved head and every dollar donated creates a ripple of hope and progress for children and families walking this road.

We are doing this for Kaylee. And we are doing this for every child who deserves a lifetime.

Thank you for your support.
