My Dear Friends, It is time once again for me to shave my head for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, but why do I do it? What is the St. Baldrick’s foundation, and most importantly why is this crazy guy voluntarily shaving his head? Three years ago I told you I was participating in this fantastic event to celebrate the end of my 3 ½ year bout of Chemotherapy and the end of my treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and last year I celebrated my 5th year of cancer remission. This year in addition to settling a private bet with a good friend of mine, I am celebrating the life that this organization and others like it have provided to me and children with cancer the world over. St. Baldrick’s is a fantastic and wonderful organization dedicated to raising funds for research into cures for childhood cancer. The St. Baldrick’s foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars towards this goal, and with our support will donate hundreds of thousands of more. They give through research grants, and doctor fellowships, and they will continue to give so long as there are battles to be fought and won against childhood cancer. St. Baldrick’s can’t do it alone. They count on generous donations from you, and the support of their volunteers to make this monumental difference in children’s and by extension families lives. All over the country all year long volunteers are out in their local communities raising funds, all culminating in the key St. Baldrick’s event, the head shaving. The volunteers, who have been out raising funds, gather together at local venues all over the country to shave their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer. So this year like in 2012 and in 2010 before that I will be standing up with these Heroes and will be shaving my head right along with them. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
