I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BD

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BD

I was recently approached by a co-worker in regards to shaving my head again for a St. Baldrick’s event in March. This event is the only fundraiser that elicits a modicum of self-consciousness from me. I get flashbacks of attending work meetings and walking the halls with electric-blue hair. Seared into those memories are images of my bald scalp stained blue, refusing to yield regardless of how much I scrubbed it. I looked like a hairless smurf for over a week. After considering that experience for a minute, declining an opportunity to continue supporting children battling cancer seemed silly, so I said ‘absolutely.’

I am writing today to ask for your support. Team up with me by helping in any of three ways:

     1.  Support the cause financially – please visit my fundraising page and make a tax-deductible donation!

     2.  Share this email or my fundraising page with a friend – post it on Instagram or Facebook or tell anyone who may be interested

     3.  Join me on March 9th at the Raleigh Beer Garden for the 2019 Glenwood South St. Baldrick's Event to watch a group of like-minded individuals shave their luscious locks for charity

Some have asked if I was planning to dye my hair again this year. The answer is IT DEPENDS!

     •  If we raise more than $500, I will dye my hair GREEN and go to work on Friday, March 8th rocking my best Joker look (sans the makeup).

     •  If we raise more than $1000, I will dye my hair GREEN and rock a rad mohawk at work on Friday, March 8th.

     •  If we raise more than $2500, I will dye my hair GREEN and rock a rad mohawk at work the entire week.

As a cherry on top, I successfully recruited my brotato Stephen to join the St. Baldrick’s fundraising efforts. Since I am 100% non-competitive, I have no aspirations of raising more than him - this is 100% for the kids. However, if I do happen to raise more than Stephen, everyone that donated will receive a handwritten limerick (just in time for St. Patrick's Day!) about how enjoyable crushing the competition can be.

Thank you for being so supportive and generous.
