I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Girls Gone Bald
Calling all girls who want to shave to try and be one big team; just because we can. Last year 63 girls shaved at McMullan's. That's a lot of girls!
This year will mark my 5th 'shave', and I think this one will be the most memorable and perhaps the most meaningful.
My mom passed away from cancer in July 2012, her illness progressed fast and as many people know watching someone you love fall prey to this disease is devastating to witness.
My daughter Kyra passed away from a brain tumor when she was 2 and a half.
My mom never liked my bald head, my mom was known for her immaculate and perfect attire at all times. Secretly though, I know she was proud that we were doing something awesome for children like her grandchild Kyra, who need warriors to raise funds and awareness to fight children's cancer.
So this year I am shaving for my daughter Kyra and my mom, I love them. I want them to know I would do anything for them.
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least fifteen years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
