I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Krista's Crusaders

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Krista's Crusaders

Why am I shaving my head for St. Baldrick’s?  Because with your support—“on my head”—we can truly make a difference.

I’m a dad to a beautiful girl named Krista. In 2003, when she was just 7 years old, Krista was diagnosed with brain cancer. From that moment, she faced a brutal battle: radiation, chemotherapy, endless hospital stays, needles, medications, and losing her hair—more than once. But through it all, Krista held on to her joy, her love for life, her family, her friends, and her faith in Jesus.

Krista was a warrior—brave, kind, and full of grace. Sadly, her journey ended when she was 11. She became an angel far too soon. But her spirit, her smile, and the way she inspired others still live on. Everyone who knew Krista was changed forever.

A dear friend wrote and performed a touching tribute inspired by Krista’s story. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/ynXfRG5nRms

Another powerful piece, with lyrics by Ethan Ashline and music by Bill Van Meter, is available https://youtu.be/lGv4XxDxWyM

We couldn't save Krista. But we can help other children still fighting. That’s why I shave. That’s why I fundraise. That’s why I show up, year after year. And that’s why I’m asking for your help.

Your donation will fund cutting-edge research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants. This work gives kids across the country a real chance at long, healthy lives.

Cancer is the number one disease killer of children. We can’t let them down.

Can you help us bring hope?

Thank you—from the bottom of my heart.
