I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Every day I work with children who are so much braver and stronger than I am, who have been dealt a set of cards that are hard to play, but who through support, research, and faith, overcome this awful disease process called cancer. Though for me, shaving my head is a choice, and therefore I can say "it's just hair," that same sentiment cannot always be shared by my patients. As someone who cannot donate my actual hair, I still want to be able to do some good with it, so I am setting out to raise money in the hopes that each dollar will help us get closer to ending cancer in children.

My goal is $1357 a number that represents the number of days my mom lived with her cancer diagnosis. While she will not directly benefit from the research, I know that she always had the attitude of "at least it is me and not you kids." Advancement in cancer research benefits all of us, not just those directly effected.

So please help me in playing my part. This decision may effect my life only temporarily, but can impact a child forever!

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
