I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For the Kids

Next Saturday, March 3, someone will be shaving my head as part of the St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraising campaign in support of research for childhood cancer. I'm writing to first ask for your help, if you can, and second, to explain why I will be walking around with a shaved head at various upcoming industry conventions and project meetings. I've also put a few challenges out there on Facebook and other social media that have been met or are in danger of being met, so if you see profile pics of me with a mohawk or video posts with me singing rival university fight songs (The Victors) then you will know what is going on.
Challenges:
$1000 = Facebook and other social media profile pic changed to one with me with a mohawk for a week
$1500 = Facebook and other social media profile pic changed to one with me with a mohawk for a month
$3000 and min 25% raised from U of Michigan supporters, I sing the Victors on-line.
On a serious note, you may or may not know that our daughter Natalie, age 7, battled against leukemia for two-and-a-half years. So far, she has been one of the lucky ones to benefit from childhood cancer research. She has been off of chemotherapy for just over a year now and is back to being a healthy and active little girl. This cause is near and dear to our hearts.
No worries if you cannot donate. Really. Words of encouragement and not gawking at my new hairstyle is a good way to support the cause. If you can contribute and/or if your firm can, please consider this cause.
You can find Natalie's story, mohawk pictures, and, heaven forbid, me singing the Victors, here: http://dcapobres.wordpress.com/. Attached is a picture of Natalie during chemo in April 2009.
