I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: UIH Peds/PICU

The time has come again for our annual St Baldrick's event! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

At our event, some folks will shave their heads – and others like me will keep the hair we have and put our hearts into supporting childhood cancer research. I am one of the lead planners of this event and am grateful to be working on a medical team that invests in important organizations like this one!

During the pandemic, donations have been down sharply, which is a big deal since the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of childhood cancer research grants. I want to make sure kids know we care. I want more research to save lives.

As a medical professional, I get to work with these amazing kids and families every day. I see firsthand what it is like for a child and family to fight childhood cancer- and how much support from the community around them can help. I love seeing our hospital come together to raise money and awareness- and get excited to do something good- is truly an amazing thing.

Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please consider making a donation, coming to our event, or shaving your head in honor of childhood cancer!
