Update 5/8/20: 

Dear friends,

As our 2020 Brave the Shave event in Sebastian FL has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, I've decided not to go bald this year. Other volunteers from our team will shave tomorrow via live-stream from their homes; I will be there to shave my husband Will's hair and, of course, continue raising money for children's cancer research as a volunteer on Team Live Out Loud.

As I've spent the last few years growing my hair long for the Brave the Shave event, I've determined that I'll be able to make the biggest impact by saving it for when we can all be together again... when I can stand next to my fellow shavees, volunteers, organizers, friends, family, and of course, the children we are fighting for and their families. 

I'm disappointed that the virus has disrupted such an incredible, meaningful event, but I look forward to the day when we will reunite and rub our beautiful bald heads together. Until then, I'll continue growing my hair AND my fundraising efforts so I can give St. Baldrick's everything I've got in 2021!

For the past 5 years, I've cheered on my friends, Team Live Out Loud, as they've raised tens of thousands of dollars for The St. Baldrick's Foundation. The research they're funding is terribly important and extraordinarily urgent: every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer, yet pediatric cancer research is deeply underfunded.

That's why I'm so honored to join the team this year. For the first time ever, I'm participating as a St. Baldrick's Shavee!

I'm "going bald" at the Brave the Shave event on March 28, 2020, not only to raise as much money as I can, but also to raise awareness, show my support, inspire hope, bring smiles, and stand in solidarity with countless kids who are battling cancer.

Cancer affects kids of all ages: infants, children, teens, and young adults. The treatments and the types of cancers themselves are extremely varied and differ from adult cancers.

In addition to saving lives, we need to develop better, safer treatments – ones designed specifically for children.

Unfortunately, only 4% of federal cancer research funding in the US is solely dedicated to pediatric cancer.

That's why we need your help. By donating, you can help change the outlook for thousands of kids.

Team Live Out Loud has a very big goal this year – we want to raise our 100,000th dollar, and I will do whatever it takes to help us hit that mark. Our team raises money as though lives depend on it (because they do)!

I've been growing out my hair for the past 3 years just for this, and I can’t wait to join my friends on the shaving stage in 2020! Come along for the ride and help me reach my fundraising goal!
