I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

The last time I had a haircut it was December 2019, days before the news broke out that there was a deadly virus we now know as SARS‑CoV‑2. I felt that going to a barber shop was not necessary and would only increase the chance of getting and spreading the virus. Or as I like to say - I stopped cutting my hair in protest of the virus.

I am sure my protest did not work, and it is sad that so many people have lost their lives to this disease. But now that we have vaccines, at least we know that it is possible to fight back. So, it is time to end my protest. Inspired by a family member who is a cancer survivor and a St Baldricks Foundation (SBF) “shavee”, I decided to raise money and shave my head for this wonderful charity.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy around the world has suffered and charitable donations have become a lower priority. SBF provides funds for lifesaving research in childhood cancer and supports cancer research activities, so I appreciate any donation set aside for this excellent cause.
