I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Amazing! It's year ten. I never could have imagined the momentum you all would give this. At this point I think everyone knows why we do this. The real question is "Why is the fundraising goal $8,408.80 this year?" That seems oddly specific... and that's because it is.

Over the last nine years we have raised:

2014: $4,750.00

2015: $1,520.00

2016: $2,605.00

2017: $3,241.00

2018: $4,000.00

2019: $5,432.90

2020: $7,519.23

2021: $5,691.92

2022: $6,831.15

Total: $41,591.20!!!

It's time for a grand challenge. I'm throwing down a follicular gauntlet. Let's have our Best. Year. Ever. Let's get our ten-year total to a mind-boggling $50,000! I never could have imagined how amazing our response would be when this started a decade ago in support of an incredible little girl's unimaginable fight.

You can read about it in the wonderful piece "The Gift Of Amanda" here:

Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations to St. Baldrick's, but it hasn't slowed down us! We've had our best years during the pandemic, and I know we can keep the momentum going.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and we don’t want to let these kids down.
