I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Those Guys

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Those Guys

2017 was oddly a year of both great joy and great sadness for me.

In 2017, my wife and I were blessed with our second daughter Hazel.

In 2017, my Godmother was also taken from the world. Once again, cancer was the culprit.

I think back to the innocence of children, and how what they have to accomplish in this world has yet to be determined.

I think back to all the thing my Godmother will miss out on. Watching her grandchildren grow, and assist her children in raising them through the various challenges of different stages of life that we all went through growing up.

I think of the devastation of my Uncle and Cousins, whom I grew up knowing and loving, and how they have to find a way to continue.

And then I think about how much more tragic this story would be if I place one of my own daughters in her shoes.

That statement may not sound fair, but it's the very situations many parents have to live through every day. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be to not only deal with the possibility of losing your child, but to do so in such a painful way.

The time has come to say "enough is enough." Are you in?
