Hi all! It's that time again! Schaumburg High School is picking up the green flag and plugging in the clippers for our 4th ST. BALDRICK'S EVENT!!! In the past 6 years, we have raised $267,000 to help fight kids cancer...that's a staggering amount of love in what has turned out to be the MAIN EVENT at SHS!
This year, I am joined by none other than Matthew (Lil Swol) Swolsky. He's been chompin' at the bit for 4 years, waiting to take part and shave his head for the ST. BALDRICK'S cause. We have been growing our hair out since November, and for those who know us, that's a ridiculously long time to have hair on our heads!!!
The 2016 event has a particularly deep meaning for me, as one of my own students, Blake Guzman, is fighting the fight of his life....right now! In May of 2015, Blake was diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that affects the soft tissue, cartilage, and bones. Blake is in week 26 of an aggressive 54 week treatment plan. While his body is ravaged, his spirit is stronger than one can ever imagine. Matthew and I are dedicating our efforts to honor Blake and his amazing resolve to conquer this dreaded disease. Won't you join us in the fight?
Your donation is just a few clicks away. Please visit our page below, check out how the students, staff, and Schaumburg High School community as a whole is making a difference, just like you! Thank you so much for helping us reach our new goal of $1200!
Love,
Big Swol and Lil Swol!!!
