March 22nd--Here we are 72 hours from the event, I feel like I still have a 100 things to do to make this a wonderful event for all the RVA "shavees". I am so looking forward to meeting all the wonderful people who will bravely "shave it bald". Please join me in support of them and come by the Church Hill Irish Festival on Sunday (rain or shine) at 1:45 and cheer on 50 people about to "shave it bald".
To help kids fighting cancer, I'm a volunteer with the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Please support me!
As of today February 22, 2012 I have officially taken over the title of "Organizer" for this event. I am very excited about stepping up and helping out in this capacity but am feeling way behind as our event is a month away. I am happy to say we are still going to run the event alongside the Churchill Irish Festival--such a great event in itself, but would love to have your support in anyway feasible. Of course monetary donations are always welcome but do you want to help out in other ways, do you want to raise money to shave your head or know someone willing to step up and raise money to shave their head while honoring these brave children who battle cancer everyday? Let me know. If you'd like to help out or have questions about the event feel free to email me at shaveitbald@gmail.com. With head-shaving and other fundraising events, this volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail. My husband Jonathon, co-organizer and SHAVEE has a page, please feel free to donate to him as he is actually shaving his head again for the 8th year!! His link is below:
