I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I have decided to join St. Baldricks in the name of two people. The first being in the name of a little girl named Jessica who died at the age of 12 of Shwachman-Diamond syndrome. My mother was her home school teacher, and I had the delight of spending time with Jessica. She was a very vibrant girl, eager to learn, eager to play, fun loving and always energetic - she never let anything slow her down. Though she lived a short life, she lived it well and with a smile. The other being in the name of my Pau Pau ( Chinese for grandmother ), who died from AML in her mid 60's. She was a nurturing, loving, caring, old world type of grandmother. I feel beyond fortunate and blessed to have such wonderful memories of her. The family took such a hard hit when she was diagnosed. Soon after we had the joy of her going into remission, her Leukemia came back with vengeance and her body was just too weak to fight anymore. My world has never been the same without her, but she lives on forever in my heart and mind. I shave my head in remembrance of them, as well as to help support all the children!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
