I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Happy March everyone!!! It is St. Baldrick’s time again!!! This will be the 12th year of participation for me! Edison Park goes bald for St. Baldricks! This event was started in 2014 and has raised over$500,000 for St baldicks over the years. I am honored to be a part of this, and honored that so many have been a part of it with me.

I started this journey on a whim when I was asked if I would shave my head for charity. As many of you have seen, my hair grows like a weed, so I figured, why not. Once I did some research and saw what the money raising was for, I was hooked. I cannot imagine having to explain to a child that they have cancer and what it is. This organization is trying to find ways to help parents to never have to have that conversation again!

Cancer has touched all of us in some way, whether a family member, a friend, a friend of a friend or a celebrity. My mother is a survivor, and I am thankful every day! I have friends who have lost parents, or grandchildren, spouses. Cancer sucks in any for.

I ask that if you can donate, that would be fantastic, and thank you in advance. If you can’t donate or don’t want to, that’s cool too. Just try to do something to in your little corner of the world, because if we all do a little bit, we can make a huge change.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you all have a great day!!

Tom
