I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Bald and The Beautiful

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Bald and The Beautiful

This is crazy, but yes I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

As a female who loves having long, pretty hair shaving my head has never been on a bucket list of mine, but when I was seriously asked to participate, I had to be honest about my thoughts on the subject:

Mainly, that my only reason to not take the plunge would be vanity.

Are my pride and my looks really worth more than a child’s life?

Especially after the sacrifice of my Savior on the cross, can I really place more value on my appearance than someone’s opportunity to live and breathe?

My answer was a resounding NO.

I only had one reason to not shave my head and it wasn’t a righteous one.

As a Christian, I’m called to do things that aren’t comfortable or the “norm.” It’s definitely a lot harder for a female to shave her head than a guy, but I know in doing so I am not only really helping children but it will be an amazing opportunity to share the love of God with my community in Monroe.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? Believe it or not, childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. That calls for us to take some extreme action! This is why I am willing to do something as crazy as shave my head to raise money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
