I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Smith

I'm Ben Smith. I’m in 6th grade at Culbreth Middle School and I’m shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. This is my 3rd year raising money through St. Baldrick's. I grow my hair all year and get it shaved with a bunch of other people at the PNC arena. This year’s big shave for me is on March 22nd! It’s a lot of fun but important work too. Last year I met a kid a about my little brother’s age who has battled cancer since he was 2. He and his family told me how much the money raised makes a difference to kids like him.

A friend of my mom lost her son to cancer when he was around my age.  Mom's friend was a BIG leader and supporter of St. Baldrick's until she died suddenly just recently.  Even though I didn't know them, it hits home when I think of them.
I want to make a difference and I need your help! Will you make a donation? Any amount really matters and is appreciated. THANK YOU!
