I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lincoln 7th Grade

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lincoln 7th Grade

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because kids with cancer don't have a choice to be bald, but I do.  An old classmate survived cancer 3 years ago I also know family and family friends who have died from it. I want to support childhood cancer research by donating my hair and shaving my head.

I am donating my hair to Locks of Love to make a wig so kids can have hair again. Another reason I am donating my hair to Locks of Love is that there are not a lot of curly wigs for children. So hopefully my hair will become a wig for someone who looks like me.

Some people may be thinking, "Why would I want to shave my head?" or "It's a bad idea!" but I think the complete opposite. I am so privileged that I get to shave my head because I choose to, not because I have to and I know my hair will quickly grow back. More importantly,  I want to raise money for a cause much bigger than myself, much bigger than all of us.

If you donate, you are not only helping out kids with cancer you are helping out future kids with cancer.   St. Baldrick's is a world-wide fundraiser with $325 million going to childhood cancer research in 31 countries.

Children with cancer didn't do anything wrong, they don't deserve to spend their entire childhood fighting for their lives. The least I could do is shave my head and " brave the shave" to show my support for them and to raise money so that they can live another day and enjoy the rest of their lives.
