I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My name is Rori, and on 6/27/15, I will be shaving my head to raise money for the St. Baldrick's foundation to raise awareness for childhood cancer. Childhood cancer is extremely underfunded, so I decided to do something about it by raising money to find cures.

In Memory of my cousin Nicolaus T. Sandoval Born on Nov. 18th 1990. He was the eldest of 3 boys and 13th grandchild out of 18. On Sept. 12 2002 Nicolaus was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, he was only 11 years old. He enjoyed music, video games and sports. He  fought a long and hard battle over the length of 5 years and 4 months. On Jan 10th, 2008, at the age of 17, Nicolaus earned his angel wings. While only on  this earth a very short while, he managed to touch so many lives. I feel it is not only and honor, but my responsibility to give back in his memory. This July I will be turning 30. At first when I thought about it, I cried at the thought of getting older, until another family member pointed out how lucky I am to have been allowed to live so many years. Ironically 13 more years than our Nicky . So instead of a fancy party or crazy weekend in Las Vegas, I  would like nothing more than to raise money and commemorate the past 30 years, in such a way that benefits others. My hair is over 16 inches long from root to tip, and will also be going to wigs for kids, a charity that makes wigs out of donated hair so that children with cancer can feel a little more "normal" while going through chemotherapy.  Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. I really appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you so much.
