I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Head of the Class

I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.

My husband battled cancer in 2016 and is currently in remission. We have family members that are going through treatment and two that just finished. We are so ready for everyone to be cancer free and healthy.

Before I braved the shave in 2016, my daughters were so nervous about having a bald mama. Then they saw me do it again in 2017, and now they know it is for a good cause and I can rock it for a purpose.

I am a teacher assistant at an elementary school in Raleigh and I am surrounded by all of these children. When I come back to school with a shaved head they will ask me why I did it. I get to have this incredible moment to share with them that all the money raised to shave our heads is going to help other children. It will fund research to find the medicine that they need to fight off a horrible disease. I would not be able to contribute this money all on my own.
