Hi! I have had several people close to me in life that have gone through having various types of cancer. My best friend ever lost her battle on 10-9-07. When she lost all her hair, I looked into locks of love and donated 14 plus inches, she told me that at 40 something it was devastating enough to lose her hair but she couldn't even imagine what it would be like if she was a kid and trying to fit in and feel normal through all the treatments and sickness etc. I did it again this past August, but then someone told me about the St. Baldrick's foundation and how you can raise so much awareness and the money you raise in support of shaving your head actually goes for research, not just covering up the problem (providing wigs) but trying to find ways to keep the problem from happening, and for kids-- the ones who have their whole life ahead of them. I have always wanted an excuse to shave my head—this gives me the perfect reason, and so with purpose I have signed up to be a shavee this March 12 at Channahon Recreation Center , I’m looking for a lot of support. I’m hoping to feel like I’ve made a difference after it’s all done and over with.
You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.

Thank you for your support!
