I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

First, I'm growing out my hair for 6 months. Then I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! This is part of my daughter Madeline's high school senior project on cancer and breast cancer awareness. I figure, if Maddie has the guts to shave her head 4 weeks before prom and 6weeks before graduation, certainly I can, too!

I shave to honor Litchfield High School student and former Shepaug hockey player, Zack Waterfall, who was diagnosed with cancer last year. He has been through treatment and is back in school and playing baseball this spring. His prognosis is excellent long term.

I also shave to honor Charlie Capalbo, a high school hockey goalie from Fairfield, CT who was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Lots of hard work ahead for Charlie but the word is that his cancer at this point is very treatable and even curable. His family has set up a GoFundMe site. https://www.gofundme.com/charlie-capalbo-be-strong

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation?
